Cork

Natural cork offers a variety of colors and textures available as a floating floor or direct glue down. Cork has been recognized through the centuries for its beauty, durability, and stable properties.  For hundreds of years, cork has been used for bottle stoppers, as floats for fishing nets, and as sandal soles.  Cork floors have been popular in Europe for over 100 years and can be seen in this country in many prestigious locations including the Library of Congress.

Trees are never felled to make cork flooring!  Cork is made from the renewable bark of cork oak trees.  Cork offers you a smooth hypoallergenic surface that is impact absorbing.

Cork oak trees boast an average lifespan of 500 + years.  In order to protect the trees from possible harm caused by machinery, cork is harvested by hand in the centuries-old traditional method.  The removal of bark activates re-growth
increasing the tree’s lifespan.
